Summer School Season Begins at The Cambridge Meeting Space
Read about why The Cambridge Meeting Space makes the perfect venue for residential educational programmes.
The busy summer school season has begun at The Cambridge Meeting Space.
Over the next two months we expect to welcome more than 1,200 students to our site, participating in a total of 34 distinct educational programmes. Attendees will be travelling from across the globe, including China, the USA and India, filling all 304 bedrooms across our residential accommodation blocks.
As one of Cambridge's leading venues for residential educational programmes, summer schools have become a cornerstone of our annual calendar. Throughout July and August, our campus transforms into a truly international learning environment, bringing together students, educators and programme organisers for an unforgettable Cambridge experience.
A Purpose-Built Environment for Learning
Located just a short walk from Cambridge city centre, The Cambridge Meeting Space offers an ideal setting for residential schools and educational programmes. Set within the grounds of Murray Edwards College, the site combines inspiring architecture, extensive gardens and a wide range of learning spaces to support academic and personal development.
Our educational programme packages are designed to provide organisers with everything they need in one convenient location. Summer school groups benefit from accommodation, teaching facilities and catering all on-site, creating a seamless experience for both students and staff.
Accommodation for Over 400 Particpants
With four accommodation blocks, 304 bedrooms and a total capacity of 430 beds, we are well-equipped to host programmes of varying sizes. Options range from modern en-suite bedrooms overlooking the college grounds to shared accommodation suitable for larger student groups.
Our residential offering allows students to immerse themselves fully in their programme while enjoying the unique atmosphere of a Cambridge college environment. Accommodation is located just moments from teaching spaces, dining facilities and social areas, helping to create a safe, connected community throughout each programme.
Flexible Teaching and Event Spaces
Alongside accommodation, organisers have access to an extensive range of teaching and event facilities. The campus includes two self-contained conference centres, 23 meeting rooms, multiple dining spaces and lecture theatres capable of hosting larger presentations and assemblies.
Whether programmes require intimate seminar rooms, breakout spaces, large classrooms or lecture theatres, our facilities can be tailored to support a variety of academic and extracurricular activities.
More Than Just the Classroom
A successful summer school is about much more than academics. Students enjoy meals in the College's distinctive Dome Dining Hall, while organisers can also enhance their programmes with extras such as formal dinners, barbecues, additional teaching spaces and sports facilities.
The Art Café remains open throughout the summer season, providing a welcoming space for students to study, socialise or simply take a break between classes.
Looking Ahead to a Busy Summer
As our first groups settle in and new arrivals continue throughout the season, we are looking forward to another successful summer of learning, cultural exchange and community building at The Cambridge Meeting Space.
